Classic Homemade Hummus
Ingredients
- 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- ¼ cup tahini
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil, plus more for drizzling
- ½ tsp ground cumin
- ½ tsp salt (or to taste)
- 2–4 tbsp cold water (as needed for texture)
- Paprika, sumac, balsamic glaze and fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Directions
- In a food processor, blend the tahini and lemon juice for about a minute until creamy.
- Add the garlic, olive oil, cumin, and salt. Blend again until well combined.
- Add the chickpeas and blend while slowly adding cold water, one tablespoon at a time, until smooth and creamy.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Transfer to a bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with toasted pine nuts, paprika, sumac, drizzle with balsamic glaze and fresh parsley (optional).
- Serve with warm pita, fresh veggies, or as a spread on sandwiches!
